Last updated 11 October 2026. These terms are an agreement between you and Zyfolks
Technologies LLP (“we”, “us”) for the Zyfin mobile app (com.zyfolks.zyfin), its sync service
and this website — together, “Zyfin”. By creating an account or using Zyfin you agree to them; if
you do not agree, please do not use it. The privacy policy explains what data Zyfin
handles and forms part of these terms.
The short version: Zyfin is a tool for planning and tracking your own money. It does not hold, move or lend money, it is not a bank, and it does not give financial advice. What it shows is only as accurate as what it reads, so check anything important against your bank. Keep your account safe, share only what is yours to share, and do not use Zyfin to harm anyone. You can export your data and delete your account at any time.
1. Who can use Zyfin
- You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law.
- Use your real name and an email address you control, and keep your password and your phone secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else has got into it, change your password and write to us at the address in section 17.
- An account is for one person. Splits (section 4) are how you share with someone else.
2. What Zyfin is, and what it is not
Zyfin helps you plan where your money goes each month, record what you spend and receive, and see your balances, plan and goals. It reads amounts, dates and merchants from bank emails you forward, statements you import and receipts you photograph.
- It is not a bank, a payment service or a lender. Zyfin cannot see into or operate your bank accounts, never asks for your net-banking or card credentials, and cannot make or receive a payment. It is not a payment system, a non-banking financial company or an account aggregator.
- It is not financial advice. “Free to spend”, plan suggestions, health scores, goal dates and the optional AI observations are estimates worked out from what you entered and what Zyfin read. They are information, not investment, tax, legal or credit advice, and we are not registered with SEBI as an investment adviser. Make your own decisions, or ask a qualified professional.
- Readings can be wrong. Banks change how their emails and statements look, and an email, statement or photograph can be read incompletely or wrongly. Your bank’s records, not Zyfin’s, are the authority on your money. Check important figures against your bank before relying on them.
3. Your information
- It is yours. You keep every right in what you put into Zyfin. You allow us to store, process and transmit it only to run Zyfin for you, as the privacy policy describes. We do not sell it.
- Forward only what you may. By forwarding a bank email or importing a statement you confirm it is yours, or that the person it belongs to has allowed you to use it.
- Your forwarding address is private. Anything sent to it lands in your account, so do not publish it.
- Statement passwords. Zyfin works out the password a bank put on your statement from details you enter. Use it only for statements you are entitled to open.
- Your profile. The name, mobile number, date of birth, gender and photo you add to your profile are kept on your account so a new phone gets them back; your PAN and customer IDs stay on your phone. Add only details that are your own.
- Export and delete. Settings → Privacy and data → Export everything gives you your data as spreadsheet files; deletion is described in section 10.
4. Splits and shared groups
- When you split an expense or invite someone, the group’s members see its names, amounts and descriptions. Your own transactions and your address book are never shared.
- Invite only people who expect it, using their own email address.
- A split, a settlement or “they paid me back” recorded in Zyfin is a note between the people in the group. It does not move money and is not proof that a payment was made; any disagreement about money is between those people.
- A shared group is a record for everyone in it. If you delete your account, a group other people have joined is handed to one of them rather than deleted, so their record of who owes whom stays — settle up, and tell them, first.
5. Using Zyfin properly
You must not use Zyfin to store, upload, share or send anything that:
- belongs to someone else and that you have no right to;
- is obscene, pornographic or paedophilic, invades another person’s privacy, insults or harasses anyone on the basis of gender, is racially or ethnically objectionable, relates to or encourages money laundering or gambling, or promotes enmity between groups with intent to incite violence;
- is harmful to a child;
- infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
- deceives or misleads anyone about where a message came from, or knowingly passes on information that is false or misleading;
- impersonates another person;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, its friendly relations with other countries or public order, incites an offence, or obstructs the investigation of one;
- contains a virus or any other code meant to interrupt, damage or limit a computer resource; or
- breaks any law in force.
You also must not try to reach another person’s account or data; probe, attack or overload our servers; reverse-engineer or copy the app except where the law allows it; access Zyfin by automated means other than the app itself; or offer Zyfin to others as a service.
If you break these rules we may remove the information concerned and suspend or end your account, and we will report it where the law requires us to.
6. Price
Zyfin is free to download and use today. If we introduce paid features, the app will show the price before anything is charged, and paying will be your choice. A purchase made through an app store is also governed by that store’s terms.
7. Other services
“Continue with Google” is governed by Google’s terms, and the app stores’ terms govern downloading the app. The services that handle data for us are listed in the privacy policy; each acts only on our instructions.
8. Our rights in Zyfin
The Zyfin app, name, logo, design and software belong to Zyfolks Technologies LLP. The open-source software it is built with belongs to its authors and is credited in the app under Settings → About Zyfin → Open-source licences. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own money, for as long as these terms apply. If you send us an idea or feedback, we may use it without owing you anything for it.
9. Keeping Zyfin running
We work to keep Zyfin available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. The app works offline on your phone; syncing and reading bank emails need our servers. We may change, add or remove features. If we ever stop offering Zyfin, we will say so in the app at least 30 days in advance, so you have time to export your data.
10. Ending your account
- You can stop at any time. Settings → Privacy and data → Delete my account and data removes your account, everything synced to it and the copy on your phone, immediately and permanently — except split groups other people have joined, which are handed to one of them (section 4). Without the app, use the deletion page. To keep your account but empty it, use Start over, keep my account on the same screen.
- We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other users or Zyfin. Where we lawfully can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your data first.
- Sections 2, 8, 11, 12, 13 and 16 continue to apply after your account ends.
11. No promises beyond these terms
Zyfin is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it is fit for a particular purpose or that every figure it shows is accurate. Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
12. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or savings, or for a loss caused by a decision made on a figure Zyfin showed, a misread email or statement, or someone using your account because your password or phone was not kept secure; and
- our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and ₹1,000.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or anything else the law does not allow to be limited.
13. Your responsibility to us
If you break these terms or the law while using Zyfin — for example, by uploading someone else’s statement without their permission — you agree to cover the reasonable costs, including legal costs, that we incur because of it.
14. If you got Zyfin from Apple’s App Store
These points apply in addition to everything above, and take priority over it where they differ:
- These terms are between you and Zyfolks Technologies LLP only, not Apple, and we — not Apple — are responsible for Zyfin and its content.
- Your licence is to use Zyfin on Apple-branded products you own or control, as the Usage Rules in Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions allow.
- We alone are responsible for maintaining and supporting Zyfin. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for it.
- If Zyfin fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the price you paid for it, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Zyfin; any other claim, loss, cost or expense caused by such a failure is ours to deal with.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for any claim by you or anyone else about Zyfin or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that it does not meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If anyone claims that Zyfin or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a United States Government embargo or designated by it as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use Zyfin, such as your mobile data provider’s.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right — and is deemed to have accepted the right — to enforce them against you.
- Questions, complaints and claims about Zyfin go to us, at the address in section 17.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change affects your rights in a significant way, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, not only on this page. If you keep using Zyfin after it takes effect, the updated terms apply; if you do not agree, you can delete your account before then. The date at the top shows when these terms last changed.
16. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Kozhikode, Kerala have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting your right to approach a consumer commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Please write to us first; most problems are quicker to fix than to argue about.

18. The rest
- If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
- We may transfer these terms to a business that takes over Zyfin, and will tell you if we do. You may not transfer them without our agreement.
- These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Zyfin.
- This is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and needs no physical or digital signature.
